Legalization of documents in Department of consular service
The procedure of legalization provides itself check of compliance of documents to the current legislation of the state of stay and represents establishment and certification of authenticity of the signature of the official and the press on such documents for the purpose of their use in other state. Legalization confirms competency of documents and acts in the international communication.
To legalize documents (the diploma, the birth certificate, the marriage certficate) it is necessary to show:
- the original document with the notarial copy,
- if necessary with notarially certified translation into other languages,
- receipt on payment of the state tax,
- the power of attorney in case of submission of documents by the authorized representative.
After putting down of a stamp of legalization the document is subject to the subsequent procedure of check in embassy or consular department of the foreign state.
